Playboy Playmate News Online: Playboy Latino Prepares to Launch in December
The iconic men's magazine "Playboy" is releasing "Playboy Latino" this upcoming December.
Hugh Hefner has decided to add a 27th foreign edition of the magazine just in time for the holidays. The other versions of the magazine are translated and already in circulation in Argentina, Brazil, Columbia, Mexico, Spain and Venezuela.
Playboy Latino will be a subscription-only bimonthly magazine in the Spanish and English language and will feature the world's most beautiful Latinas.
The content will include the risqué images it is popular for, but celebrity interviews, humor, current social and political issues, short fiction, lifestyles pieces and pictorials will also be part of the circular. Once again, this rendition of the magazine will not be sold on newsstands or adult stores.
"We are thrilled to begin publishing Playboy Latino for the fast-growing U.S. Latino and Spanish-speaking market," stated Edgardo Lorio, Playboy Latino publisher and editor-in-chief. "The past 30 years have produced a significant shift in the U.S. demographic, and a new generation of Spanish-speaking consumers has emerged. Playboy Latino will provide this fast-growing population with an entertaining platform to share their accomplishments, views and interests in the arts, sports, political and business world."
With today's Latina possessing diverse looks and body types, the Playboy world is set to explore a different dimension.
The first Latina to appear on the cover of the adult publication was Panamanian model Ester Cordet in 1974. This opened more doors for Cordet and proved early on that Playboy would give consumers a variety in looks.
Playboy Enterprises, Inc. signed a license agreement with Arbol Publishing on Oct. 6 for the distribution of the magazine.
"Playboy Latino will offer readers the engaging, thoughtful and provocative content that has made Playboy magazine the gold standard for award-winning journalism," said Tom Flores, Playboy's SVP, GM Publishing Operations. "We look forward to a successful partnership with Arbol Publishing as we continue to expand the Playboy brand to a new group of consumers."
