The Mega Millions jackpot is now at $145 million and anyone could be the next multi-millionaire.

After no one won the $130 million jackpot last Tuesday (Sept. 17), the pot prize has grown to $145 million for today's draw. Moreover, after a person from South Carolina won $400 million at the Powerball lottery yesterday, more people are joining lotteries and placing their bets in the hopes that they too will be the next multi-millionaire.

Mega Millions draws are held every Tuesday and Friday at 11:00 p.m. The lottery allows betters nine ways to win, with prizes ranging from $2 to the million jackpot prize. Every time the pot is not won, money is added to the prize that can grow as high as $300++ million.

Winners can choose whether to receive their winnings in cash or annuities. For tonight's pot prize, the cash option will allow the winner to bring home $98 million, while the annuity option will divide the $145 million win to a 26-year payout period.
