NFL Team Football Schedule & Week 6 Predictions 2014: 5 Teams Who Must Win This Week
With five weeks complete, the 2014 NFL season heads into Week 6.
The first five weeks of the season were exciting, but some teams had disappointments. Every week features "must win" games for a number of teams for multiple reasons. This week, we have five teams who must win their Week 6 games.
Here are five teams who must win their Week 6 matchups.
1. Denver Broncos
Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos are playing great so far with a 3-1 record. Their only loss is to the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks. Why the "must win" label? The Broncos take on the New York Jets in a game that most people believe will be a blowout. Rex Ryan and Manning have had their battles before on the field, but the Broncos should be able to take care of business. A loss to the Jets would be extremely disappointing.
2. San Diego Chargers
The San Diego Chargers have been the hottest team in the league, riding a four-game winning streak. Fortunately for the Chargers, they get to face the win-less Oakland Raiders in Week 6. Although the game will be played on the road, it's still in-state for the Chargers. With the Broncos most likely beating the Jets, the Chargers need to beat the Raiders to stay atop the AFC West division. Philip Rivers is making his case for the Most Valuable Player Award.
3. Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions are an inconsistent football team. They had the chance to improve to 4-1 in Week 5, but lost to the Buffalo Bills at home. Losing Calvin Johnson was obviously vital, but still no excuse for blowing a 14-point lead at home. The Lions take on NFC North rival Minnesota Vikings in Week 6. With the Green Bay Packers finding their groove, it is time for the Lions to stop blowing leads.
4. Baltimore Ravens
Even without running back Ray Rice, this team is playing well. The Baltimore Ravens are 3-2, good enough for second place in the AFC North behind the Cincinnati Bengals. Steve Smith Jr. is looking like he's in his prime with the Carolina Panthers. In Week 6, the Ravens take on the 1-4 Tampa Bay Buccaneers. To stay competitive in the AFC North, the Ravens need to take care of business on the road in Week 6 and improve to 4-2.
5. Arizona Cardinals
The Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers are viewed by most as the best teams in the NFC West division, as they did meet in the NFC Championship game last season. If the Arizona Cardinals are going to keep pace with these two teams, they're going to have to beat the Washington Redskins in Week 6. The Redskins have lost three consecutive games, and are now 1-4 on the year. The Cardinals get to play the Redskins at home in week 6.
