J.K. Rowling caused a frenzy among Harry Potter fans after she posted a cryptic tweet on Monday that appeared to suggest that she was working on new Potter magic.

On Sunday, the 49-year-old British author sent out a tweet to give her followers an update about her latest projects, which includes a screenplay, titled "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," a Potter spinoff and trilogy.

"Very busy at the moment working on a novel, tweaking a screenplay and being involved in @lumos campaigns. Back when I've finished something!," she tweeted.

The following day she posted a riddle that seemed to be in the form of an anagram, which Rowling frequently included in the Potter book series.

"Cry, foe! Run amok! Fa awry! My wand won't tolerate this nonsense," read the mysterious tweet.

Naturally, Potter fans thought that the tweet was a hint that there would be more Potter books to come, despite the fact that the wizard decided to settle down with his family in the book series' epilogue.

However, Rowling tweeted several more hints to help Potter lovers crack the code, revealing that the Tweet is a teaser about Newt Scamander, the magizoologist that will be featured in the upcoming "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them."

"Newt Scamander's History of New York Fauna: One town, my tale. Warmer," she Tweeted on Tuesday, followed by a post that read: "#helpfulhint The solution is the first sentence of a synopsis of Newt's story. It isn't part of the script, but sets the scene."

Hours later she posted a second hint, tweeting: "#Hint2 There's only one sentence hidden in the anagram, it is written in natural English and it concerns Newt Scamandar. #3hintsreally," followed by: "Typo alert: ScamandEr, not ScamandAr (long day). Now take out 'Newt Scamander' and 'New York' and see what you can make of the rest! #hint3"

Eventually, a twitter user with the handle @EmyBemy2 was able to solve the riddle.

"@jk_rowling Newt Scamander only meant to stay in New York for a few hours... #anagram"

In response, the author wrote: "YES!!!!!!!!!!!! People, we have a winner!"
