Bigfoot Evidence and Sightings 2014: Bigfoot Believers to Gather in Washington State for Sasquatch Convention
Bigfoot believers will gather in Washington State this weekend at the Yakima Valley Museum's Bigfoot Round-Up.
According to the Yakima Herald-Republic, the event will honor Bob Gimlin and the late Roger Patterson, the famous filmmakers who allegedly captured Bigfoot on camera in 1967. The movie makers claim they spotted the mysterious beast near a creek in Northern California. Since then, the footage has been debated and scrutinized by enthusiasts who call the film pioneering and critics who argued that the video is nothing more than a stunt featuring a man in an ape suit.
Photos, footprints and anything else considered evidence by Bigfoot investigators will be on display at the Yakima Bigfoot Round-Up. The event, which is being held in conjunction with the museum exhibit, Sasquatch Revealed, also includes lectures and a banquet to honor Gimlin and Patterson.
On Saturday, attendees will hear from two scientists and a special effects artist who has analyzed the Patterson-Gimlin film during the "Sasquatch meets Science" presentations. Then, on Sunday, the general public will be invited to attend discussions by the host of Animal Planet's "Finding Bigfoot," which will include live, Bigfoot-theme folk music.
Last month, members of the Southeastern Ohio Society for Bigfoot Investigation (SOSBI) held a forum at the Putnam County Library in Ottawa, Ohio, to discuss their observations of the existence of Sasquatch on Sept. 25.
Doug Waller and Shawn Parker, the founders of the organization, talked about the number of eyewitness accounts of Bigfoot in Ohio and across the nation, which they have been collecting for years of sightings, reports the Putnam County Sentinel.
They used a pinwheel map of Ohio to display the locations where there have been sightings and huge footprints.
According to Waller, there have been numerous sightings in Salt Fork State Park in Guernsey County, Kenton in Harden County and Mount Vernon in Knox County. Those accounts suggest that the creatures are about 7-8 feet tall and leave 19- to 20-inch footprints. Their faces and hands are also covered in hair.
