"The Fall" co-star Gillian Anderson has been spilling all the details about "Fifty Shades of Grey" star Jamie Dornan.

Anderson plays Stella Gibson in the hit BBC2 series "The Fall" alongside Dornan, who will star as Christian Grey in the movie adaptation of E.L. James' erotic novel "Fifty Shades of Grey."

According to Anderson, Dornan was almost too good looking to be cast as "The Fall" serial killer Paul Spector.

"The initial intention was not to hire somebody who was that attractive," she told InStyle. "However, it was clear that he was very much the man for the job. It didn't have anything to do with his good looks, although in the process we realized what that would do psychologically to the viewer. There was something intriguing about that, most definitely."

Dornan has gained fans thanks to his role in the popular series, but the model-turned-actor's biggest role yet will certainly be that of S&M-loving billionaire Christian.

Anderson thinks Dornan will be able to handle the fame and attention that "Fifty Shades of Grey" is likely to bring.

"Jamie is one of the most grounded people I know," she said. "He has a really good head on his shoulders."

According to the former "The X-Files" star, the rising actor has enough family values to keep his priorities straight.

"He has a wonderful relationship with his family and friends," Anderson said. "He has a really lovely wife and a lovely family life with his new baby. He's got it all in perspective and has a very appropriate and right-sized take on all of this. I don't think he needs any advice."

In an interview with Mirror Online last week, Anderson discussed what Dornan is like on the set of "The Fall."

"He's very, very funny and good at telling stories," she said. "He's a good mimic as well. He's a lovely lad."

"Fifty Shades of Grey" hits theaters Feb. 13, 2015.
