Comparing the Nexus 7 vs. the Nexus 9
The last Nexus was the Nexus 7. It was made by ASUS and it featured the Android KitKat OS. Both have the same 2 GB of RAM which is a little disappointing that the Nexus 9 did not upgrade to 4 GB of RAM. The screen size in the Nexus 9 is 8.9 inches vs. the 7 inches in the Nexus 7.
Battery life is going to get a little better. Nexus 9 is promising a 9.5 hour battery life in a huge 6,700 mAh battery. The Nexus 7 had a small 3,950 mAh battery.
Camera quality will get much better. The Nexus 7 had just a 5 MP camera, the Nexus 9 will have a 8 MP camera. Optical stabilization will also be added. Pictures taken with the camera will improve.
But, remember just because it's a new a tablet does not mean it will be lighter. In fact, it will be much heavier. The Nexus 7 was slightly below 300 grams in weight for both models, the Nexus 9 will tip the scales at 425 and 436 grams.
