New iMac Retina Display is 67 Percent More Sharp Than Last Model
Get ready for a big-screened desktop with vibrant colors. Thanks to Apple's refresh of the iMac desktop, customers are going to get a very sharp picture and a big 27-inch screen.
Thursday, Apple took the chance to introduce new iPads, a new update to their iOS 8 software and new iMacs. The iMacs, to many were the only exciting news.
So what is so great about the new iMacs? Let's take a look.
The screen is going to be a Retina display. That means super-clear images. In addition, these super-clear images will be displayed on a huge 27-inch monitor.
Next, Apple is calling this display a 5K display. A 5K display is more than seven times more the pixels than an HDTV.
The design of the desktop screen is going to be thinner than past iMacs, so it will look pretty on your desk.
Just because the screen is brighter doesn't mean the computer will use more energy. Apple was wise enough to use power-saving LEDs. These LEDs decrease power by 30 percent.
The processor is going to be extra fast too. Consumers can boost their speed up to 4 GHz.
The problem starts after hearing aout the specs of this desktop. The price is going to be a shocker. The computer will start shipping today for a cost of $2499.
That's a hefty price for a desktop computer that got faster and a brighter screen, but it seems too much. Why spend that kind of cash on a desktop, unless you are a DJ or a video editor?
What do you think of the new iMacs? Is it worth the price? Or is too much. Leave us a comment below and let us know.
