Nintendo is showing off what it has in store for the new Super Smash Bros. video game for the Wii U console.

On Thursday Nintendo will stream a live presentation via Nintendo Direct that will show off "50 new things" about the new Smash Bros. game. The event will go live at 6 p.m. EDT on the Nintendo Direct website.

Just exactly what those 50 new things can be is a mystery. Of course, there will be new maps and levels, but what about items and moves?

If you think back to the first Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 64, you will remember each fighter had his or her own fighting style, but they all had very few moves to choose from. Fast-forward now to late 2014 and technology and brains have changed. It would be a very good idea for Nintendo to give each character more moves instead of just the basic punches and kicks.

Items are another variable. In the past, you could get items that would help you attack your opponents. Smash Bros. needs to add more items available to gamers while they compete in Brawls against other Nintendo characters.

Amazon might have spoiled some of the features that Nintendo was excited to show off to gamers. That's because Amazon, in its description of the new game, detailed that Smash Bros. will have a stage creator and a board game mode.

Before the event, there are now 110 new screenshots of the game. The visuals, graphics and artwork look very impressive. You can see the images by going to this IGN article.

Could there be some new characters? It looks like Ness, Falco, Wario, Dr. Mario and Dark Pit will all make it into the game, except they will be unlockable characters.
