Even though "NBA Live 2015" was delayed until almost November, EA Sports and the team working on the "NBA Live" series are already planning out the 2016 and 2017 versions of the game.

"We've already started development on 16... We're staffing up. We're actually increasing investment on what 16 -- and 17 -- look like," executive producer Sean O'Brien of NBA Live told Polygon.

EA Sports has lost its handle on basketball simulation games. "NBA 2K" games are always more popular and usually better.

"NBA Live" used to be one of the premiere NBA basketball simulators but then "NBA 2K15" came around and stole almost all of their customers.

It didn't help EA Sports that their most recent release of NBA Live (2014) received awful reviews and did not sell well.

In 2011, EA Sports decided not to put out a game at all and focused on "NBA Live 2013."

O'Brien insists that basketball video games are a profitable business. He says that its a $350 million market. Maybe that's why he is already committing to the next two "NBA Live" games.

This year, "NBA Live 2015" was set to be released at the same time that "NBA 2K15" was -- early October. Delays occcurred and now "Live 2015" will be released on Oct. 28.

Even with some of the glitches that "2K15" has, "NBA Live 2015" will not sell well. Gamers have preferred 2K games for most of the 2000s.

The best thing "NBA Live 2015" can do right now is ensure that its release is a smooth one. "NBA 2K15" had major issues with its servers and several glitches with the gameplay itself. If "NBA Live 2015" wants to stay competitive, it will strive for a flawless game.
