Thursday night's matchup between the San Diego Chargers and Denver Broncos features several important players and storylines.

Let's take a look at the game and the "Madden NFL 15" player ratings for Thursday Night Football.

Of course, the big superstar in Thursday's matchup is Peyton Manning. He has looked remarkable almost all season. With 19 touchdowns and only three interceptions, Manning is headed for another record-breaking season.

"Madden 15" rates Manning as a 98 overall (OVR) rating and gives him a perfect 99 rating for awareness (AWR).

Helping Manning in the backfield is Ronnie Hillman. Hillman has only 240 yards rushing this season, but he has given the Broncos a nice option in the run game for when Manning wants to take a few plays off from slinging the ball.

Hillman is only rated a 74 OVR but has 91 speed (SPD). His OVR should go up if he continues his 4.4 yards per carry. He's only in his third season and has only started two games in his whole career, all being this season.

On the Chargers, Philip Rivers is right behind Manning with 17 TDs and only three INTs. After three TDs in Weeks 5 and 6, Rivers threw only two in a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs last week. He also threw a pick in that loss. Still, Rivers is rated a 95 OVR with a 92 AWR rating. Tonight is a big game for him; he has to find a way to beat the Broncos and play precise football or his OVR rating could sink to the 93 or 94 level.

For Rivers to continue his success, he will need to rely on tight end Antonio Gates. Gates already has seven TDs. Gates is rated as an 88 OVR which seems a little low for his productivity. If he has a two-TD game Thursday, he should go up to a 90.
