Juan Manuel Marquez is still contemplating retirement, but trainer Nacho Beristain wants the Mexican boxing icon to face Kell Brook before formally hanging up his gloves for good.

Marquez, who has not fought since winning against Mike Alvarado in May, previously said that he wants to fight one more time because he wants to become a five-division world champion.

In a recent interview, Beristain said that he is looking to pit Marquez against Kell Brook, saying that the reigning International Boxing Federation welterweight champion will be a good opponent for his fighter.

"He's a fighter with good technique," Beristain said of Brook. "He holds a lot and that is concerned, but I think it's a good fight for Juan. If he continues fighting, hopefully he can [get that fight] because he would get the opportunity to get the fifth title."

Marquez, who holds a 56-7 record with 40 knockouts with the last one coming against Manny Pacquiao, has yet to decide whether or not he will continue fighting, saying in a recent interview that he might make his decision early next year after several weeks of training.

"If we feel good, by January, we are going to reveal if we are going to continue or not," Marquez said via BoxingScene. "It would be nice to have a fifth title, but I am not obsessed with that. Right now I could walk away very quietly. We have to evaluate our physical form, and the opinion of family is also important."

Marquez also added that in the event he decides to fight one more time, it will not be against his Filipino rival, saying that their rivalry is over after scoring a sixth round knockout win in their fourth fight in December last year.

"We had a good win [in the fourth fight] and if we face him again we run risk of having a close fight and then the judges are going to favor him, so I don't see a lot of sense [in facing him again]. We won the first three, and we won the fourth. I think we already demonstrated what we intended to demonstrate," Marquez said of facing Pacquiao.
