Microsoft now owns "Minecraft' after purchasing the maker of the game, Mojang, just last month for a ton of money, but, does that mean they want to make a "Minecraft 2" and make a ton of money off it?

Not yet, according to Phil Spencer, who is the head of Microsoft's Xbox.

"I don't know if Minecraft 2 is the thing that makes the most sense."

Spencer continued the interview with IGN by adding that instead of creating a sequel, he wants to focus on the current Minecraft gamers and continue to make them happy -- for now at least.

"The community around 'Minecraft' is as strong as any community out there," he said. "We need to meet the needs and the desires of what the community has before we get permission to go off and do something else," Spencer said. "It doesn't mean that everything we're going to do is going to map to 100 percent of their acceptance because I don't know if there is any topic where 100 percent of people agree, but we look at job one is to go out and meet the needs of the 'Minecraft' community first, and then we can think about ways that we can actually help grow it. That's our sole focus."

This sounds like a man with a plan. Sure, many "Minecraft" gamers were probably not too happy to learn that their fun, little, low-grade graphics building game was purchased by a mega-corporation like Microsoft, but at least they are being told they are in good hands, right?

Plus, Spencer is trying to appease as many gamers as he can. He even thinks there could be a "Minecraft" mobile version.

"We're looking at how do we bring that whole system together a little more because there are other games out there that let me move from screen to screen fairly seamlessly," Spencer said.
