On Monday, TMZ reported that Lorraine Toussaint who played Vee on season 2 of "Orange is the New Black" would be returning to the show despite her character's dramatic death scene last season.

"Sorry, Red ... Vee -- Litchfield Federal Prison's public enemy #1 -- will be back on the show for Season 3 ... despite being left for dead in last season's finale of "Orange Is the New Black," a TMZ rep wrote.

TMZ also added that Toussaint is scheduled to begin filming season 3 of "OITNB" on Tuesday in New York.

Despite TMZ's claims of Vee's reincarnation, BuzzFeed confirms that Toussaint is not returning for season 3 of the show.

BuzzFeed claims to have spoken with people from Netflix who said "[Lorraine Toussaint] is not going to be in season 3."

However, Toussaint still remains coy about her character's comeback status on the show.

And TMZ caught up with Toussaint in front of the set of "OITNB" following the BuzzFeed story, leaving fans to wonder whether Toussaint's "OITNB" character is actually dead.

Toussaint then added fuel to the confusion when she told TMZ that "Vee is alive somewhere."

She then recalled the story of a Nigerian man telling her that he doesn't think Vee is dead.

Toussaint also told BuzzFeed that she isn't sure if Vee is actually dead.

"We're not sure if Vee is dead," Toussaint told BuzzFeed after season 2 of the show aired. "She could be dead, she could not be dead. That's an open-ended question still. Isn't that a scary proposition? She might need to be dead. I don't know."

Though it is still unclear whether fans will see Vee on "OITNB's" upcoming season, they can still watch her as Lt. Joanna Reece on ABC's "Forever."

"Forever" airs on Tuesdays at 10/9c.
