It has been confirmed that "House of Cards" actress Elizabeth Norment has died at the age of 61 years old.

Norment, who played Frank Underwood's loyal secretary, Nancy Kaufberger, on the popular Netflix series, died on Oct. 13, said her agent, Dianne Busch, according to NBC News. She died at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. No other details have been released.

"House of Cards" executive producer Beau Willimon released a statement saying, "Everyone at 'House of Cards' is deeply saddened by Elizabeth's passing. She was a talented actress, a warm soul and a good friend to us all," reports The Hollywood Reporter.

MRC, an independent studio that produces "House of Cards," also released a statement.

"Elizabeth Norment was a talented actress with a beautiful spirit who touched the entire House of Cards family. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends," the statement said.

"House of Cards" star Kevin Spacey posted a message on Twitter about Norment.

"RIP Elizabeth Norment. We all loved her and she leaves a void in all of us here at HoC's," he wrote.

Throughout her career, she was also known for playing a judge on "Law & Order," in addition to her roles on "ER," "St. Elsewhere," "Party of Five," "L.A. Law," and "Doogie Howser, M.D," reports the Huffington Post.

Her breakout roles include when she played Rosalind in "As You Like It" and Beatrice in "Much Ado About Nothing" at the Grove Shakespeare Festival in Garden Grove, California. Prior to that, the veteran actress had small parts in the 1984 films "The Woman in Red" and "Runaway." She was also featured in the 1985 CBS miniseries "Robert Kennedy and His Times."

Norment received her master's degree from the Yale School of Drama in 1979 and is noted as a founding member of Robert Brustein's American Repertory Theatre.
