Kendrick Lamar New Album: Source Claims Pharrell Thinks 'i' Rapper's Next CD Is 'Unapologetically Black,' Reveals Next Single
According to a reliable source from the music industry, Kendrick Lamar's second single off his highly anticipated sophomore studio album will be titled "King Kunta."
HBO Music Supervisor Scott Vener took to his Twitter account on Wednesday night to talk about the Compton emcee's upcoming music. He started his by claiming that he visited Pharrell in the studio this past weekend.
Vener continued by stating that while Skateboard P and K. Dot were "sketching an idea for a song," the latter pulled out his laptop and started playing the new track for everyone there.
He also detailed the follow-up to Lamar's first single "i" which reportedly features "dusty drums with an updated sound" and "hard hitting bass lines," tweeting:
Vener then revealed the title, as well as the producer behind the "Money Trees" rapper's latest project: Top Dawg Entertainment's Sounwave.
Although it has yet to be confirmed, Pharrell already thinks Kendrick Lamar's next single is "so unapologetically black and AMAZING," and he "can't wait for [Q-Tip] to hear" it.
