Madden NFL 15 Gameplay, Week 9 Player Ratings, & Roster on PS4, Xbox One: How Thursday's Game Affected Ratings
Another edition of Thursday Night Football is in the books and Madden gamers are anxious to see how it affects player ratings.
The New Orleans Saints finally got an away victory and clobbered the Carolina Panthers 28-10.
Cam Newton went 10-28 with no touchdowns through the air and only 154 yards. There has to be something wrong with him. His current rating is a 91 OVR, but he sure doesn't look like a 91. His speed is still listed at 86, but he clearly is not running at 86 out of 99 speed. Expect the Madden NFL 15 ratings gurus to adjust him down to about an 88 OVR and a 81 speed rating.
Drew Brees, on the other hand, looked excellent. His athleticism and cannon for an arm proves that he is a worthy of the current 95 OVR he owns. Brees threw for 297 yards and one touchdown while diving in for another. He did throw one pick, but no worries on that one. He could go up to a 96 or even 97 OVR.
It was also nice to see the Saints get the running game going. While Brees put the ball in the air 34 times, his running back Mark Ingram ran it 30 times for 100 yards. Ingram also had two touchdowns and maintained his stamina throughout the game.
"The offensive line and tight end did a great job of hitting them, hitting them and hitting them," Ingram told reporters after the game. "I think they started to wear down and we were able to get some leaky yards and some big gains."
Ingram's average sure wasn't something to brag about, but Brees surely appreciates having a capable runner to help snap the Saints' four-game away losing streak.
Ingram is rated at an 80 OVR and that's probably about as high as he'll get.
