Saturday Night Live Cast News: Iggy Azalea Speaks About SNL Moles
Iggy Azaela's photo for the "Saturday Night Live" promo was shown during the broadcast with a few things missing; the beauty marks on her face.
She appeared on the show as a guest and stated that she wished SNL hadn't removed her moles in the picture.
"I loved the promo pictures but I wish they hadn't photoshopped all my moles off my face (hey, I like those things!!)," Azalea wrote on Instagram after her performance.
Her fans agreed to her comment. On Pinterest, a user named Tormented Sugar put up a digital image of Azalea with the birthmarks reinstated, according to Yahoo!
She wrote, "Moles are beautiful! My daughter has 3 on her temple she HATES. I remind her Marilyn and Iggy have moles...our 2 fave blondes."
It is unclear as to why "SNL" removed the Australian rapper's moles. Throughout history, the late night comedy show has manipulated pictures of guests for their promos during the broadcast.
Katy Perry and Anna Kendrick's photos have undergone the same treatment when they were guests on the show.
Yahoo! predicted that because the photos used for promos are done in a blown out manner and receive highly saturated treatment, Azaela's moles could have been distracting.
In the past, feminist icon Marilyn Monroe used to draw extra attention to her mole near her mouth. She would darken the mole, often referred to as a beauty mark.
Many stars are known for their beauty marks such as, Cindy Crawford, Blake Lively and Angelina Jolie.
Iggy performed her new single "Beg for it" with Danish singer MO.
After the performance, fans took to Twitter because MO's vocals in the chorus seemed to be delayed, prompting a lip syncing accusation backlash.
The Danish singer later responded to the comments saying, "I had some technical issues which causes latency to my vocals, and as a result I got confused and my timing was off."
The performance was on October 25.
