Multiple sources have reported that Seth Rogen is being eyed to play opposite Christian Bale in a new biopic on Apple founder Steve Jobs. Rogen is in talks to play co-founder Steve Wozniak opposite Bale's Jobs in the upcoming Sony film.

According to many reports, "Zero Dark Thirty" actress Jessica Chastain is also being pursued for a role in the film, although it's not clear who she would play.

According to USA Today, the script written by Aaron Sorkin is "not a traditional biopic." Sorkin, who also penned "The Social Network," based the film from the authorized biography by Walter Isaacson and will be directed by Danny Boyle. Sony acquired the rights to tell the tech mogul's life after his passing in 2011. Scott Rudin, Guymon Casady and Mark Gordon are all producers of the film.

The story will follow Jobs' life during three high-profile product launches throughout Apple's history, ranging from the first Macintosh in 1984 to Apple's 2001 iPod premiere.

The recent "Jobs" starring Ashton Kutcher in the title role covered a similar time frame, but only grossed $36 million in worldwide box offices.

Rogen's track record has been favorable in taking on dramatic roles, like those in "Take This Waltz" and "50/50." Some are calling Rogen's potential involvement opposite Bale similar to Martin Scorsese's choice to cast Jonah Hill with Leonardo DiCaprio in "The Wolf of Wall Street," an Oscar-nominated movie.

Rogen's next project is with good pal and fellow "Freaks and Geeks" alum James Franco in "The Interview," a Sony picture scheduled for release Christmas Day. He and producing partner Evan Goldberg co-directed this comedy feature, and have an upcoming animated film "Sausage Party" together. A third untitled Sony movie starring Rogen has recently finished filming, which he collaborated again with "50/50" co-star Joseph Gordon-Levitt and director Jonathan Levine.
