Air Jordan Release Dates 2014: CP3 VIII, AJ 1 Retro High – Price, Where to Buy, Photos
Jordan Brand will release the latest signature sneaker of Los Angeles Clippers superstar point guard Chris Paul on Wednesday, while another retro shoe is set to hit the market this weekend.
The Jordan CP3.VIII, Paul's eighth signature shoe with Jordan Brand, will be released for the first time on Wednesday, 8 a.m. EST. It will hit shelves in Black/White-Infrared 23 colorway that will be available for $130 per pair in select Jordan Brand retailers worldwide.
The new Jordan CP3.VII features a black-based upper part combined with white logo on the tongue and infrared 23 laces and hints on the midsole finished off with a white outsole. According to Nike, the "sleek and minimalist" design of the new CP3.VIII was influenced by Paul himself.
"Chris Paul is incredibly involved in the design process of the shoe, and works closely with Jordan Brand designers to create a shoe that is made specifically for his game," Nike wrote in a statement. "Paul asks designers to incorporate elements that give him an edge over his opponents, similar to a superhero's kit with concealed secret weapons."
Paul, known as one of the fastest players in the NBA, reportedly wanted to take advantage of his speed, which was the reason why the new CP3 signature sneaker was "built for speed."
"Paul's game is notoriously fast, and he requires a shoe he can trust when he's making quick changes in direction, stopping in an instant or initiating a high-speed attack on the rim," Nike said. "The TPU chassis provides this type of supreme stability for the rapid directional moves that Paul is known for."
Aside from the Black/White-Infrared 23 colorway, Solecollector reported that the CP3.VIII will also be released in Cool Grey/Black-White colorway, which will also be available on Wednesday for $130 each pair.
