Donald Trump's popular reality TV show "Celebrity Apprentice" is returning with a new cast of celebrities battling it out. The show, which will air early next year, announced the cast list comprised of 16 celebrities.

According to USA Today, the series will return to NBC on Sunday, Jan. 4 with a two-hour special that will begin at 9 p.m.

Aside from featuring the celebrities who will participate in the show, former winners will also appear as mentors, including the late Joan Rivers, who won in the second season.

The new season's line up is comprised of eight men: Johnny Damon, former World Series champ; comedian Gilbert Gottfried; Sig Hansen, from "Deadliest Catch;" singer Kevin Jonas; actor and reality TV star Lorenzo Lamas; former NFL player Terrell Owens; radio talk show host Geraldo Rivera; and actor Ian Ziering of "Sharknado" fame.

The female line up is comprised of Olympic snowboarder Jamie Anderson; Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson; actor Vivica A. Fox; actor Keshia Knight Pulliam from "The Cosby Show;" TV personality Leeza Gibbons; and reality stars Brandi Glanville from "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills;" Kate Gosselin of "Jon and Kate Plus 8;" and Kenya Moore from "Real Housewives of Atlanta."

According to E! News, billionaire Trump revealed the cast Tuesday morning during NBC's "Today."

Aside from Rivers, former winners of the reality show include Piers Morgan, Bret Michaels, Arsenio Hall, John Rich and Trace Adkins.

"This season of "The Celebrity Apprentice" is on point to be the best yet," Trump said in a statement. "With 16 extraordinary contestants bringing their energy to the boardroom, it is sure to be a hit, as always."

According to the New York Daily News, the show is the result of "The Apprentice." In its seventh season, the show featured celebrities for the first time, increasing ratings after a decline during the earlier seasons. The show's winners donate their winnings to charity.
