'Oprah's Favorite Things' Gift Guide & List 2014: Top 72 Electronics, Clothing, Edibles & Home Goods to Look For
This year's list of the hottest holiday gifts, also known as the annual "Oprah's Favorite Things" gift guide, was released Wednesday. Winfrey's favorites have been pared down to 72 of the hottest electronics, clothing, edibles and home goods on the market to date.
The highly-anticipated list means huge profits for the mentioned items, often boosting sales of smaller retailers so much that they sell out of the products because of Ms. Winfrey's promotion.
"I tasted. I tested. I sniffed. I touched," Winfrey said according to New York Daily News of her process for selecting which items make the cut. "I lotioned. I potioned. I snuggled. I brewed. I steeped. I read. I dared, and then I did it all again...and again...and again!"
The list will be the cover spread in her magazine's December issue, which will hit the stands Tuesday.
On Oprah's website, shoppers can cruise a gallery listing all of the items, their cost and where to get them. Users can even save several items while browsing as their own favorites, creating a trendy shopping list at the same time.
A few of the hot-ticket items include:
- A 15-pound, 2-foot-around loaf of crusty sourdough bread from Eli Zabar in New York. According to Oprah, the Happy Holiday Loaf is worth the dough, $150 of it.
- A set of Golden Beats by Dr. Dre, which include the rapper's iconic over-ear headphones and a golden version of the Pill speakers. O Magazine is the first to promote this special edition of the music electronics, which Winfrey says "make me want to get my dance on."
- A past-of-the-month club subscription from Sfoglini. The organic noodles are delivered with ideas for pairings and recipes.
- Sunglasses and eyeglasses from Warby Parker. Oprah owns 26 pairs herself, she uses them "as much as shoes to change my look."
- A Burt's Bees baby basket for new parents on holiday shopping lists. The Ultimate Welcome Home Basket features loads of organic cotton baby items.
