Kim Jong-un, supreme leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, appeared in a photo shoot at an orphanage. This marks the second time he has appeared in public since disappearing from the media spotlight more than a month ago.

The photo was taken in late October, according to The Telegraph, and shows the North Korean leader at an orphanage giving “field guidance” to the four officers.

Although the photo released by the KCNA state news agency aims to quell rumors about Jong-un's health, it unintentionally made him a target for ridicule. In the photo Jong-un appears in an immaculate pink room too tidy and perfect to actually be part of any North Korean orphanage. However, it was the positioning of two dolls behind the North Korean leader that stole the spotlight.

The two stuffed toys appear in a compromising position made even worse by the blue stuffed toy’s smiling and winking face. The blue stuffed cat is called Doraemon and is from a Japanese cartoon.

No one knows who positioned the toys in such a manner, but once the culprit is discovered, it will likely not bode well for him or her. Mashable reports that 10 North Korean officials were executed for watching South Korean soap operas, an illegal offense in the Hermit Kingdom. Two South Korean lawmakers broke the news to South Korean media outlets but did not provide names. However, it could be that Jong-un may be reasserting control of the country via purges.

"Kim Jong-un is trying to establish absolute power and strengthen his regime with public punishments," said Yang Moo-jin, a professor at the University of North Korean Studies in Seoul.

According to the BBC, Jong-Un has also appeared in another series of photographs walking without his cane as he reviewed troops. This may be another attempt to show the leader is in good health.
