YouTube Epic Rap Battles of History Season 4: 'Ghostbusters,' 'Mythbusters' Square Off With Some Special Surprise Guests [Video]
Kick-starting Season 4 of "Epic Rap Battles of History," the staff returns with a haunting clip between "Ghostbusters" and "Mythbusters."
The cult YouTube video series was created and is produced by Internet personalities Peter Shukoff and Lloyd Ahlquist. The show pits renowned historical and legendary pop culture figures -- real and fictional -- against one another in a battle royale of wit and lyrical flow.
Comic actors parodying Ghostbusters Egon (Zach Sherwin), Peter (Chris Gorbos), Ray (Mark Douglas) and Winston (Walter Downing) met their match with two "Mythbusters" impersonators (Shukoff and Ahlquist) in a hip-hop showdown to beat all showdowns as they competed in an Epic Rap Battle.
From the jump, the quartet comes at the scientific duo hard.
"Are you tired of two geeks in mustaches ... who can manage to be boring with explosions and crashes?" the Ghostbusters team said.
The rap begins with plenty of mile-a-minute references to the "Ghostbusters'" blockbuster phenomenon and cultural importance, but not before the "Mythbusters" sweep in and name drop Walter Peck and take stabs at their use of positrons.
"Good thing you worked in a firehouse because you just got burned," the MythBusters rap. "You are poor scientists, and that's confirmed."
The veracity of the production values mixed with the out-of-nowhere non-sequiturs generates fun and crazy pyrotechnics the crowd can enjoy.
Despite the inclusion of "MythBusters" alums Tory Belleci (Chris Alvarado), Grant Imahara (KRNFX) and Kari Byron (Mary Doodles) as The B-Team, the ultimate party-crasher award goes to Stay Puft Marshmallow Man (voiced by Ahlquist and acted by Taylor Cu). Breaking out some serious rhymes, no one seems to be a match the tasty apparition.
