Fantasy Football 2014 Rankings, Sleepers & Week 12 Waiver Wire: Top 5 NFL Players to Pick Up This Week
Week 12 of the 2014 NFL Fantasy Football season is here.
Adding free agent players to your Fantasy Football team is key to winning your league. Staying ahead of the waiver wire is critical to maintaining a great team. This week, a lot of running backs are getting notoriety.
Here are five players you should consider signing off waiver wire for Week 12:
1. Jonas Gray
Heading into this past Sunday Night Football game against the Indianapolis Colts, the entire New England Patriots team had just three rushing touchdowns all season. Things quickly changed when Jonas Gray scored four (Patriots franchise record) touchdowns on the ground in a 42-20 victory. For the game, Gray had 199 rushing yards on 38 carries. With Stevan Ridley out for the year, Gray could be a good free agent pickup if you're having running back issues. Gray has a tough task against the Detroit Lions next week, but it is at home.
2. Josh Gordon
Last year's leading receiver has yet to play a game this season. Josh Gordon will be making his season debut for the Cleveland Browns in Week 12 against the Atlanta Falcons. Last season, Gordon led the NFL with 1,646 receiving yards on 87 receptions. The Browns are currently 6-4, and the entire AFC North has six wins. This Browns team is coming off a disappointing loss to the Houston Texans, and now quarterback Brian Hoyer gets a new target to throw to. Gordon hasn't played a game this season, but his talent is worth the addition.
3. Mike Vick
It may be a big reach, but if you're having a quarterback problem, Michael Vick could help temporarily. Vick has started just two games this season, but his numbers are better than you would think. In Vick's two starts, he has three touchdowns and zero interceptions, against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas City Chiefs. Vick isn't the extremely fast quarterback he once was with the Falcons, but he's still very mobile. Vick and the New York Jets will play the Buffalo Bills next week.
4. Joseph Randle
We all know DeMarco Murray is the man in Dallas, but don't sleep on Joseph Randle. The Cowboys have the best offensive line in the NFL, and almost any running back can run through some of those holes. Randle had 56 yards and a touchdown in his last game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Next game, against the New York Giants, you can bet he will get his fair share of carries to provide some rest for Murray. Randle is also a fast back who can break the big runs to the outside.
5. Rashad Jennings
Rashad Jennings returned back from his knee injury against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 11. He didn't have the great game that Giants fans had hoped for; just 59 yards on 18 carries. But it was his first game in over a month, and against a great defense. Jennings and the Giants will face the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football. With the Giants' passing game struggling so much, Jennings will have to play great for Big Blue to even have a chance.
