Jose Eduardo Derbez and Sofia Castro continue to follow in their parents' footsteps.

Jose, who is the son of Mexican actor and director Eugenio Derbez and Mexican actress Victoria Ruffo, and Sofia, who is Mexican First Lady Angelica Rivera's and Mexican director and producer Jose Alberto Castro's daughter, will be starring together in upcoming telenovela "Amores Con Trampa," according to TV y Novelas

The show will be produced by Emilio Larrosa and will star Itati Cantoral, Ernesto Laguardia and Eduardo Yanez in the main roles.

Both Jose and Sofia have had short telenovela careers so far, so they are going to have acting coaches guide them.

Sofia recently faced backlash after refusing to talk about the 43 missing university students from Mexico. After it had been reported that they had been killed, Sofia attended the 2014 Premios Arlequin and said she didn't want to focus on the crime that had shaken up Mexico.

"I don't think this is the time to talk about this," she said. "All of Mexico is in mourning because of what's happened, but I don't think right now is the moment. Right now, we are here to enjoy ourselves and for me to get my award."

Although expressing her opinion about a sensitive topic might be complicated for Sofia, who is the stepdaughter of the Mexican president, many believed that her comments were insensitive. People went on Twitter to share what they thought of Sofia's comments.

"I actually cringed when @sofia_96 castro said, 'it's not time to talk, we're here to have fun,'" one tweet said. "This is your country I don't get it."

Sofia's cousin, Ximena Sarinana, was one of the celebrities who did express negative thoughts on the government.

"How do we save the credibility of our authorities? Who are we left to trust in?" she said. "What horror..."

Sofia has been quiet on social media since Nov. 10, which is when many media outlets reported on her comments.
