Recent reports said Jose Alberto "El Güero" Castro was being let go from Televisa for his addictions and fraudulent behavior.

His daughter, Sofia Castro, went on to Twitter to call out the magazine that first reported the news, TV Notas.

"I want to tell all the 'certain' sources that what they say about my dad is a lie," she said. "It's a complete lack of ethics and respect. You never think that these things affect third parties. All I can say is that my dad is more handsome and hardworking than ever before."

Sofia continued by saying that she wished they would name the sources and stop defaming her father, as well as the people that are regularly covered on the magazine.

The original report said that after 26 years of working for Televisa, El Güero was being fired after his telenovelas had been audited. He had allegedly been lying about the costs.

Also, executives were tired of his erratic behavior, which was supposed to be caused by his addiction to drugs. The company is supposed to part ways with the producer after the ending of his hit telenovela, "La Malquerida." Huffington Post Voces confirms that he is still in this role.

He has not made a comment about whether or not the reports are true.

Earlier in the month, the cast of "La Malquerida" was photographed celebrating their high ratings with donuts.

One of the pictures featured El Güero holding out a box of donuts on set.

His latest telenovela tells the story of a woman who remarries after her husband dies. Her new boyfriend tries to win over her daughter, who hates him, and in the process, he falls in love with her.

It premiered in the United States in August.
