Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series 2014: New Trailer Released; Game Will Follow HBO Series [Watch]
The highly anticipated “Game of Thrones” video game, Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series, is inching closer and its developers have released a trailer giving fans a sneak peek into what to expect from the upcoming video game.
Centered on House Forrester, the game gives a new perspective into the “Game of Thrones” universe.
Telltale, the game’s developer, released the game’s trailer on Thursday and provided some background about the game, its storyline and its characters, according to The Verge.
The game will focus on House Forrester and will follow the HBO show’s story, picking up toward the end of Season 3 and ending before Season 5. The game’s family has not been mentioned in the video but Telltale points out they are “Game of Thrones” canon, having been mentioned in the books, according to its statement.
“House Forrester is a noble house from the Wolfswood in the north of Westeros. Bannermen to House Glover, they have always offered unswerving loyalty to the ruling great house of the North – the Starks. The Forresters are seated at Ironrath, an imposing stronghold surrounded by towering ironwood trees. Built over fifteen hundred years ago by Cedric Forrester and his triplet sons, Ironrath is a testament to the strength and endurance of Ironwood,” they explain.
The game will be split into six episodes. The first, “Iron into Ice,” will be released toward the end of the year for various platforms, including: PC/Mac, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and iOS.
Gamers will play the game from five characters’ perspectives, all from House Forrester, and players will have to ensure their house’s survival from both the schemings of Cersei Lannister, as well as the Forresters’ rival house, House Whitehill.
According to Wired, the game features some of the show’s characters like Cersei, Tyrion Lannister and Ramsay Bolton, among others.
In a cheeky tweet, Telltale announced the game and also said that 13 of the characters had been released to individual websites.
