The Boston Red Sox solidified their roster for the 2015 MLB season as reports confirmed that they have signed free agents Pablo Sandoval and Hanley Ramirez on Monday.

John Heyman of CBS Sports first reported the five-year deal between the Red Sox and Sandoval before Dan Roche of WBZ-TV confirmed that the third baseman accepted a five-year contract worth $95 million, along with a one-year club option.

According to ESPN, Sandoval also received offers from the San Francisco Giants and San Diego Padres -- both at least $90 million for five years -- before he eventually decided to move to Boston.

The Giants offered a three-year, $40 million contract extension earlier this year, but Sandoval rejected the deal. The Giants also tendered a $15.3 million qualifying offer, but the 28-year-old also turned it down.

And because the Giants tendered a qualifying offer, the Giants will receive draft-pick compensation from the Red Sox once the league confirm the deal between Sandoval and Boston.

But despite losing a draft pick, the Red Sox managed to improve their roster after filling out the position that was their main Achilles heel last season as they ranked 29th in OPS at .580 at third base - way below the league average of .701, according to ESPN.

Sandoval, who spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Giants, batted .279 with 16 homeruns and 73 RBIs last season. The seven-year veteran also made a huge impact for the Giants in the 2014 MLB Playoffs, where he batted .366 with five RBIs in 17 games, helping San Francisco win their third World Series titles in five years.

Aside from Sandoval, the Red Sox are also reportedly finalizing a deal with Ramirez, who is one of the most coveted players on the free-agent market this offseason.

Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reported that Ramirez is set to fly to Boston on Monday to sign a five-year, $90 million deal with the Red Sox. ESPN reported, though, that terms of the deal are not yet finalized, and the salary could be higher than $90 million.

Ramirez, who averaged .283 with 13 homeruns and 71 RBIs with the Los Angeles Dodgers last season, has played shortstop for almost his entire career. He could change position in Boston as reports indicated that Red Sox executives are high on 22-year-old shortstop Xander Bogaerts.
