Homeland Spoilers and Recap: Latest Episode 'There's Something Else Going On' Focuses on Prisoner Exchange
"Homeland's" latest episode, "There's Something Else Going On" aired on Showtime on Sunday and was nothing short of "explosive," says Entertain This!
The hour-long episode zeroed in on a highly risky prisoner exchange between the CIA and the Taliban.
LA Times reports that in the latest episode,Taliban commander Haissam Haqqani-played by Numan Acar- agrees to release CIA director Saul Berenson-played by Mandy Patinkin-only if and when the U.S. chooses to free the Taliban's valued terrorists that are being held at Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan.
Despite Haqqani's offer to release Berenson, Islamabad's CIA station chief, Carrie Mathison-played by Claire Daines-still senses deception in Haqqani's agreement.
Evidently, Mathison's sense of deception is correct as it is later revealed that Haqqani's ultimate is goal is to attack the U.S. Embassy in Pakistan, LA Times reports.
As they attempt to attack the U.S. Embassy, Haqqani and his team of thugs travel through a tunnel that leads to the compound.
We then discover that Dennis Boyd-played by Mark Moses-is the one who tells Haqqani about the tunnel's existence because he is being blackmailed by Tasneem Qureshi-played by Nimrat Kaur-who is a Taliban sympathizer with Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency.
Mathison later discovers Boyd's affiliation with the ISI after Boyd attempts to poison Mathison. She then calls Boyd out on his deception to which Boyd later confesses his actions of deceit to Martha.
Meanwhile,Taliban fighters launch rocket-propelled grenades at a U.S. convoy returning from the prisoner exchange. And CIA Director Andrew Lockhart-played by Tracy Letts-has deployed Marines to the attack site which in turn leaves the embassy vulnerable to invasion via the tunnel, LA Times reports.
Following the end of the latest Homeland episode, social media users took to Twitter to express their shocking excitement over the nail biting cliff hanger which leaves viewers wondering "Who lives? and Who Dies."
