George Clooney is coming to Downton. The American actor made his first appearance in a teaser video for the charity Text Santa.

Aside from this sketch bit, Downton fans continue to await the show's Christmas Special -- at least, in the U.K. American fans of the British costume drama will have to wait until January when it airs on PBS.

The Text Santa charity enlisted Clooney for their traditional holiday sketch video, according to the New York Daily News. The charity raises money for six charities in the U.K. In the video, Clooney appears as an American wedding guest of the Crawleys.

Hugh Bonneville, who plays Lord Grantham, told the Radio Times Clooney behaved like a true British gentleman while on set.

"He came and filmed with us for an afternoon back in May when we were doing this Text Santa sketch and he was incredibly generous with his time and his talent," he said.

"It's interesting the number of people who suddenly come on set who'd never been on set in five years of filming. He was great -- he was a good laugh and sprinkled some sort of magic dust over our experience."

The sketch will air on Dec. 19 and will be followed by the Christmas Special on Christmas Day in the U.K. Bonneville says this upcoming season's Christmas Special will be set on Christmas Day, unlike last season's, which took place in the summer.

However, Season 6 may be the show's last. Set to be released in September 2015 in the U.K. and January 2016 in the U.S., Season 6 is the last season covered by many of the actors' contracts, according to the Express. Sources close to the show have said the cast is tired of recording in Highclere Castle and of lengthy scenes like the show's fancy dinners.

ITV producer Gareth Neame, nonetheless, said that writer and creator Julian Fellowes has time to write more scripts before his other project, the series "Gilded Age" begins filming. Neame said "Gilded Age" is in its very early stages, giving Fellowes more time.
