Alessandra Urach, 27, was hospitalized on Tuesday and was in serious condition after a cosmetic procedure went wrong.

She was originally sedated in Porto Alegre's Hospital Conceição, but Globo reported on Wednesday that she had shown slight improvement and was less sedated.

On Nov. 21, the model and host was getting rid of hydrogel, which was injected into her thighs five years ago. Her leg became infected after undergoing a second removal procedure, notes Ultima Hora.

On Sunday and Monday, doctors continued to remove the product that was still in her leg, but Urach's health worsened, which is when she was transported to intensive care.

Hydrogel is a product used to augment muscles and butts, and though it is legal in Brazil, it can only be used in small doses. The 2012 Miss Bumbum runner up had 400 milliliters injected into her legs, which is 200 percent more than the maximum amount allowed.

Globo reported that the hospital did not specify what kind of improvements had taken place, but it did say that Urach was at no point facing amputation nor did she have a cardiac or respiratory arrest.

Urach originally intended to have two days to recover from removing the gels.

"Today I removed more product from my legs," she said on her Facebook account. "It was super calm surgery. I'm going to need to days of rest, and then I'll return to Sao Paulo."

The model, who in 2012 said she had an affair with Cristiano Ronaldo, discovered earlier this year that the gels were causing her harm, according to the Daily Mail. The gels were causing her leg muscles to rot, and she was in a lot of pain as a result.

"The hydrogel was not absorbed by my body and started to harm me," she said. "Now I've discovered that the PMMA is sticking to my muscles and causing the tissue to rot. That's why I am feeling such strong pains. I'm taking morphine every four hours and antibiotics to alleviate the suffering."
