'La Gata' Cast News 2014: Maite Perroni Says She Preferred Her Character Before the Makeover
Maite Perroni sat down with "El Gordo y La Flaca" to talk about her amazing year.
Perroni was in the middle of a shoot for Estilo DF when she took some time to talk about "La Gata." Her character goes through a big transformation on the show, and Perroni said she preferred her character in her less glamorous state.
"I love 'La Gata,'" she said. "When they started making my character transform and change my character's storyline, they told me now you show, you get dressed, no more torn clothing and your hair will be brushed. And I said, 'No!' I was very happy being La Gata."
Perroni also wished that the telenovela had been a longer process.
Perroni also talked about her relationship with Koko Stambuk.
"I have the great fortune and luck to share my life with a man who I love and who I respect very much, and who has given men so many beautiful memories," she said.
Although she's happy now, there have been past relationships where she struggled. Sometimes she couldn't figure out if forgiving meant accepting things she didn't want or if it meant actually moving past the problem.
Becoming a solo artist has also helped her grow. About 10 years ago, she started off a music career as part of RBD, a band that was formed for the telenovela "Rebelde." Now, she is in charge of what she wants to stay and what genre she wants to take on.
Although Perroni is trying to gain more credibility as a singer, she's also trying her hand at designing. Her Colección Maite Perroni will be released in the United States on Dec. 14. The affordable collection is inspired by her favorite designers, as well as the kind of pieces she is drawn to.
