"Britain's Got Talent" contestant Susan Boyle is dating her first boyfriend, whom she met at the age of 53.

The Associated Press reports that Boyle's new and first-ever beau is a Connecticut doctor who she met while she was on tour in the U.S.

Following the initial meet up, Boyle and the doctor met again at a hotel in Clearwater, Florida, Boyle's rep tells the AP.

Boyle recently spoke to the Daily Mail about her new beau and said that "It's very early days so we'll see what happens. I hope he comes over [to Scotland]."

She added, "I don't want to say any more about who he is right now as that would be unfair on him. All I'll say is we are around the same age and he was a very nice guy."

Boyle first captured the hearts of many TV viewers worldwide following her performance of the "Les Miserables" song "I Dreamed a Dream" on "Britain's Got Talent" back in 2009, AP reports.

After her stage performance, Boyle revealed that she had never been kissed.

Although Boyle did not win "Britain's Got Talent," she continued to capture the hearts of fans worldwide with her various successful record releases.

AP reports that Boyle also "received an honorary doctorate, performed for Pope Benedict XVI and wowed audiences in Las Vegas."

Last year, her constant touring and performing eventually took its toll when the 53-year-old was admitted to the hospital for exhaustion, according to AP.

At the time, she also revealed that she was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome, which the Daily Mail describes as a form of autism.

"It's a very difficult subject to talk about because you always feel that eyes are on you, and people view you as different," she explained to the Daily Mail. "I like to see myself as someone with a problem, but one I can solve. It is definitely getting better. Since the diagnosis I've learned strategies for coping with it and the best one is always to just walk away."
