You have to love the rumor mill.

Everyone wants to know what is going on with the upcoming "Star Wars" movies. This inevitably leads to a tremendous amount of speculation and new sources.

A week ago, there were rumors of Han being killed by Luke in defense of his son. But a recent rumor has apparently nixed that idea and presented new ones regarding the characters and their interactions.

So what has this new rumor revealed? Here are the most salient points:

The State of the Galaxy

Apparently, there is a war going on between the New Republic and what is left of the empire. With the emperor dead, there has been a void of power that many have attempted to command. Gwendoline Christie apparently plays an Inquisitor, a lightsaber wielder who has no force powers, but is looking to kill off force-sensitive characters in the galaxy.

Leia is apparently leading the New Republic.

Who Are the New Guys?

Daisey Ridley's character, Kira, is apparently the main heroine. But what has yet to be revealed is what she has to do with the entire galaxy. Apparently, she is Han and Leia's daughter and has kept a low profile to avoid trouble for her powerful mother (similar to Luke and Leia being hidden from Vader).

She goes out on a journey to find Luke alongside John Boyega's character Deak, who is a deserter of the Empire. He, too, is force-sensitive and will eventually learn to be a Jedi.

Oscar Isaac will be the love interest of Kira and he is a rebel pilot with a mean streak. Apparently, his last name is Darklighter and he inherits the Millennium Falcon.

As for Max von Sydow, he lives with Kira and apparently is half-cyborg. He might also have a connection with the Sith.

Lupita Nyong'o is supposedly Luke's latest apprentice and Boyega's love interest.

Domhnall Gleeson is a scoundrel.

What About the Villains?

Adam Driver apparently is the Sith from the trailer and he visits Andy Serkis (his voice is in the trailer), who some claim is a Sith Lord exempt from the rule of two. He is apparently an alien that trained Palpatine. However, he does not have the same goals as Palpatine.

What About the Original Guys?

As noted, Leia rules the galaxy while Han is her husband. Chewie protects Han's entire family while C3PO and R2D2 are with Leia the whole time. The family also knows where Luke is hidden. Meanwhile, Lando becomes a celebrity in the galaxy.

These spoilers do not reveal where Luke has gone into exile, but it appears he has trained some Jedi. He is not fond of using his lightsaber, though he apparently uses it at some point. He also speaks to Yoda's force ghost. He makes a big reveal at some point in the film. There is no information on whether Luke is struggling with his power, though there are hints that he has become as powerful as Yoda once was.

The source claims that Han does not die in this film, but will likely die in the sequel.

It should be interesting to see how these rumors develop over the next year. There are some patterns emerging that are starting to almost confirm their truth: Luke in exile, the inquisitors and Adam Driver as an eventual Sith Lord, among others.
