Sprint Unlimited Plans, Phones, Coverage & Accounts: Why This Carrier Wants You to Switch Over
Sprint wants your business. They are willing to cut your wireless bill up to half off with a chainsaw -- at least, that's what the ads are showing.
Sprint is getting aggressive this holiday season. They want consumers to switch over from AT&T or Verizon. They promise that if consumers switch they will save up to 50 percent on their wireless bills.
There are some conditions customers must follow. They will not be able to bring their old phones to Sprint, they will have to trade them in and purchase a Sprint phone to get started.
The customer will still have to purchase the phone at Sprint's price or pay for it through "Easy Pay."
The bills likely will not be cut in half by 50 percent, but more like around 20 percent. Still, that's a nice saving when you are paying over $100 for your individual wireless plan.
But, the savings for family plans could be substantial. Take the typical four-person family plan that shares 10 GB of data. If the family has two premium smartphones and two average smartphones, according to research if they switch over from AT&T they will save about $74 per month. That's down from $284 a month for the family plan to $210 with Sprint.
If that same family jumped ship from Verizon and were paying $265 a month, they would pay $220 with the Sprint plan.
But, with these cheaper prices comes a sacrifice. Typically Sprint doesn't have the coverage that AT&T and Verizon has. Additionally, they've been slammed in the media for being the worst carrier.
New CEO Marcelo Claure wants to make some changes, and this "cut your bill in half" campaign could help. All of this competition amongst these carriers sings good news to customers and their wallets. Look for the trend to continue into the New Year.
