Actress Zoe Saldana and artist husband Marco Perego have reportedly welcomed a set of twin boys.

According to London's Daily Mirror, the couple welcomed their new addition to the family around Dec. 8. They were born in a Los Angeles hospital.

"Zoe and Marco are delighted, Zoe has been ready to drop for some time and they are both ecstatic to be meeting the twins," a reported friend of the couple said. "This is a dream come true for both of them, they are absolutely delighted. They have been looking forward to this day for the last nine months."

The friend added that both Saldana and Perego eventually want to have a large family, "so this is the start."

On Dec. 12, a source also confirmed the news to E! News.

"She had her twins," the source said. "[She and her husband] are both so excited. They are surrounded by family and friends. All that matters now to Zoe and her husband is that the babies are healthy."

The "Avatar" actress' friend Prabal Gurung posted the news on Instagram.

"Congratulations to my dearest darling friend and my muse @zoesaldana (and her husband) on the arrival of their twins," the caption reads.

Actress Garcelle Beauvais took to Twitter to share her congratulations.

"Congrats to @zoesaldana on the birth of her twins from a #twinmommy to another," she said.

Earlier this year, Saldana told Cosmos for Latinas that she wants her children to be bilingual.

"Of course [our children] will speak the languages that we speak; my sisters and I grew up learning French and speaking English and Spanish, and because of that, we're able to understand Italian and Portuguese," she said. "But I'm going to have to make a conscious effort to speak Spanish to my children, because I speak Spanglish."

Saldana is known for starring in "Star Trek" and "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl." She and Perego eloped last year in England.
