Mortal Kombat X game developers plan to divulge a new character from its roster each week gearing up to the April 15 release.

Already confirmed for the game are Cassie Cage, Ferra & Torr, Kotal Kahn, D'Vorah, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kano and Quan Chi. The roster is said to have about 24 fighters, so there is definitely plenty more to announce. The next expected announcement is early January. The game is then going to go into pump up mode and make a character announcement every week.

This leaves questions on over a dozen fighters. Who is coming back? Who will be left out of the game? Who will be downloadable content (DLC) only?

One U.K. magazine claims they know the next character to be announced. GamesMaster delivered an exciting post on Facebook saying that sometime in January there will be an announcement of a new character. The magazine said that when the issue goes on sale (Jan. 2, 2015), they will be the first publication to reveal who this fighter is. 

One way that Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon is delivering news on the upcoming fighter reveal is through Twitter and social media. He has delivered some vague tweets over the past few months that seems to give hints to gamers on just who will (or will not) be included in this game. 

Another way Boon has given news out on this game is through e-sports events. These are events where players demo games that are set to be released.  Boon has allowed some privileged gamers to demo Mortal Kombat X in its early stages.
