Sarah Jessica Parker-best known for her role as Carrie Bradshaw in HBO's "Sex in the City" -is returning to HBO to star in and executive produce the television network's upcoming comedy titled, "Divorce," the Hollywood Reporter reports.
"Divorce" will delve into the life of a middle-aged woman-played by Parker- who is influenced by her newly single friends to divorce her husband, THR reports.
As she questions herself on whether to divorce her husband, he later decides to divorce her after discovering that she was having an affair. The shocking discovery then leads to a very long and tumultuous divorce, Deadline adds.
ABC's "Bad Management" and "Pulling" writer, Sharon Horgan is reportedly on board to write the "Divorce" script, says THR, while Aaron Kaplan, Paul Simms (Girls, Bored to Death, Flight of the Conchords) and Pretty Matches president, Alison Benson will work on the show as executive producers.
Deadline reports that "Divorce" will be the first "major TV acting commitment" for Parker since her days starring in "Sex and the City."
Parker's most recent acting gig was starring as a fashion mogul on the fourth season of "Glee" and starring in the limited series, "Busted," according to THR.
In addition to acting, Parker is also greatly involved in fashion.
The Daily Mail reports that Parker recently traveled to Dubai for the international launch of her SJP shoe collection.
While promoting her shoe line in Dubai, Parker expressed her desire to continue working on acting and focus on being a mother.
"I'm still very interested in being an actor and love what's challenging about it," she told the National earlier this month. "I just did a play in New York and just finished a movie called All Roads Lead to Rome, and I'll probably go back to work in February and work on a couple of things back to back."
