Jay Z, Beyonce Lose Bid on $85 Million Mansion in Beverly Hills
Power couple Jay Z and Beyoncé had their eye on an $85 million mansion in Beverly Hills but "Minecraft" creator Markus "Notch" Persson outbid them on it, SFGate reported.
The mansion with eight bedrooms, 15 bathrooms and a cliff-side pool made the headlines for all its special features. It has a candy room with an M&M tower, a car showroom and bars decked with expensive vodka and tequila.
Other features of the home include a home theater, a gym, a stocked wine cellar and an 18-foot onyx dining room table. The "Minecraft" creator outbid the home for $70 million down and sealed the purchase of the mansion and everything that comes with it.
A real estate agent named John Aaroe said, "Trophy properties in LA are underpriced compared with other world cities. [International] buyers can enjoy the lifestyle now and know they will make a solid profit in the future."
Business Insider reported that the bidding price for the trophy home was set at $85 million so Persson outbid the 23,000-square-foot mansion for $15 million less than what was asked.
Jay and Bey may want to start looking for a new home amidst rumors that they are having a second child. New York Daily News reported that, during their "On the Run" tour, Jay Z changed his lyrics from "I replace it with another one" to "pregnant with another one."
Fans started to believe that that was Jay Z's way of confirming that Beyoncé was pregnant again.
The hip-hop power couple already has their first child together named Blue Ivy. Yet, the couple has been swamped with rumors that they were getting a divorce, HollywoodLife.com reported.
"They are barely speaking to each other. After they perform they go off separately," a source told HollywoodLife.com. "There's a ton of tension, they're not happy. It's all for the cameras."
Other rumors say that the rapper was cheating on his wife but they shot down divorce rumors when they renewed their vows after five years of marriage.
