Country. Pop. Taylor Swift can do both. The genre-crossover singer will be honored as the songwriter and artist of the year awarded by the Nashville Songwriters Association International, for six consecutive times. The singer's biggest hits "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and "I Knew You Were Trouble" will be officially named the award's recipient on Sunday.

Taylor Swift's multi-platinum selling fourth studio album "Red," which was released by Big Machine Records in last October, had some of the songwriter's successful hits to date, also including "22." The album received Billboard Music Award for Top Billboard 200 Album and Top Country Album, as well. It was a follow-up to her commercially successful third studio album, "Speak Now." Since its release, "Red" has sold 6 million copies worldwide.

The annual award recognizes the songwriters in country music who manage to reach the top 30 hits during the past year. It seems that the 23-year-old singer and songwriter's heartbreak, tears and failed romance with her former boyfriends definitely have paid the price for Swift, making her a recognized award winner.

According to her record company, Taylor Swift is the only artist to win the specific award six times in a row, and she's the youngest ever recipient of the award. Also, she actually was able to beat the record set by veteran country singer/songwriters Vince Gill and Alan Jackson, who both have won five awards each.

Swift and newcomer singer-songwriter Kacey Musgraves lead the nominees with six nods each at next month's Country Music Association awards.
