Katie Holmes Doesn't 'Really Care' If She's Moved Past Her Time as a 'Dawson's Creek' Cast Member
Katie Holmes is Elle Canada's February issue cover girl, and in her cover story, she reveals that she still reminisces about her days starring in "Dawson's Creek" over 10 years ago.
"I don't know if I have moved past it, but I don't really care," Holmes said about the show that first propelled her acting career. "I had a ball doing it, and it's really nice to be a part of something that did affect people. And it created a lot of opportunities for all of us. You can't really ask for much more than that."
Despite admitting that she has not yet moved on from the show, Holmes explained that she does not let her past acting experiences define her future roles.
"I just keep going," she revealed. "That's what I do: I don't really think about it; I kind of just keep going."
Prior to her Elle interview, Holmes spoke with Du Jour about her developed confidence in acting over time. The mother of 8-year-old Suri Cruise explained that her strengthened confidence stems from the various acting jobs she's booked over the course of her career.
"The more projects you do, the older you get, the more life experience you get, you start to understand storytelling better. So you're a little bit more confident going in. You're not afraid of getting fired: You just want to contribute," she explained.
Despite the number of acting projects she has garnered throughout her career, Holmes did recall an acting dry spell she experienced following the split from her now ex-husband, Tom Cruise.
"It's the life of an actor," she said about the dry spell. "We don't really have a lot of choice in the matter. You have dry spells, and then you have times when there is a lot of opportunity."
