The hospital's website states that the Kosair Children's Hospital specifically tends to the needs of children located in Kentucky and Southern Indiana, regardless of the patient or their family's financial struggles.
"Kosair Children's Hospital is Kentucky's only full-service, free-standing pediatric care facility dedicated exclusively to caring for children and is an advocate for the health and well-being of all children. The 263-bed hospital serves as the primary pediatric teaching facility for the University of Louisville School of Medicine," the website adds.
The website also states that Kosair Children's Hospital specializes in treating children for diabetes, cancer, trauma and severe burns.
In a past interview with the Los Angeles Times, Lawrence revealed that she worked as an assistant nurse prior to starting her acting career. She attributed her nursing expertise as the reason for her love of medical dramas and her inability to be "grossed out" by various illnesses.
