Xbox One Update: Console Gets 5 New Apps, Find Out How to Download and Use Telemundo Now, Pandora, Vevo, Bravo Now and Popcornflix [Video]
Five new media apps have launched on the Xbox One this week. Gamers who own the Microsoft gaming system can now download Vevo, Telemundo Now, Pandora, Bravo Now and Popcornflix apps.
"From the beginning, our vision for Xbox One has included offering gamers the ability to play the best games and seamlessly switch to the apps, movies and TV shows they love," the company wrote on its blog Dec. 18.
Here is the Xbox One app lineup and availability by country:
Pandora
Pandora for Xbox One is available to Xbox Live members in in the U.S. Enter the name your favorite artists, songs, genres or composers and create personalized stations that play only music you'll love.
"[The Internet radio service app] takes advantage of all the functionality the platform has to offer, and our team built the application to look amazing on the biggest screen in your home," Pandora wrote in a blog post.
Best of all, the app can play music stations in the background during gameplay-something Xbox music cannot do. It also has built-in voice and gesture controls that will work with Kinect.
Vevo
Xbox One users can now download Vevo, the largest collection of official music videos, for Xbox One and start watching his or her favorite music videos.
Gamers can also watch original shows and see live music performances by his or her favorite artists.
The app is available in the U.S., United Kingdom, Spain, Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand and Poland.
Bravo Now
Bravo Now for Xbox One is available in the U.S.
Download the app and sign in with your TV service provider login information to watch full episodes of all your favorite Bravo shows. A cable subscription is required.
Telemundo Now
Available in the U.S., gamers can watch full episodes of Telemundo novelas, shows and specials plus see behind the scenes video, interviews, and more. A cable subscription is required. Log in using your TV provider's user name and password.
Popcornflix
Popcornflix on Xbox One is available in the U.S. and Canada and is free of charge to North American users.
The app enables users to stream hundreds of films instantly at no extra cost. Choose from movies in a variety of genres including action, comedy, romance, thriller, family and more. New films are added daily.
The apps join Starz Play, HBO Go, MoviePlex Play, Encore Play and Showtime Anytime in the list of offerings Microsoft has recently added to the console.
