One Direction Tours, Songs and Twitter News Update 2014: Did Niall Horan Really Quit the Band?

One Direction fans were undoubtedly in panic mode this weekend over viral rumors claiming that Niall Horan might quit the band.

It all started when Sugarscape tweeted on Dec. 28, followed by a bunch of crying emojis: "BREAKING NEWS: Niall has left one direction."

On the same day, Yahoo Celebrity UK also tweeted:

As a result, the hashtag #ReasonsNiallLeftOneDirection instantly became a worldwide trending topic on Twitter, with fans sharing hilarious posts:

While the "Steal My Girl" singers' rep told Hollywood Life that there is "no truth to this rumor," it turned out that the websites were only the victims of a hack - Sugarscape tweeted the reason behind the shocking tweet:

Similarly, Yahoo Celebrity UK explained to its followers what had happened, assuring that Horan will not leave the popular crew:
