Almost five years after the release of one of 2009’s hottest summer hits, we finally know who penned the song.

In a recent interview, British singer Jessie J said she wrote the lyrics to Miley Cyrus’ “Party in the USA” and it helped her a lot for more than three years.

In an interview with Glamour UK, Jessie J, 26, reveals she wrote the lyrics of the Miley Cyrus hit that helped the young American singer propel her career surpassing her Disney Channel past.

"Party in the USA paid my rent for, like, three years. Actually it was longer than that. That's where I get most of my money. I write songs. I'm a singer. I love doing endorsements and stuff, but that's all added on,” the British singer said.

Jessie J broke out into the American music market with her song “Price Tag” in 2011 and now has become more known with hits like “Bang Bang.”

In the interview, which appears in the magazine’s January issue, Jessie J also talks about her love life with Luke James to rumors that she will move to the U.S., leaving her home behind, which she vehemently denies.

"That's complete and utter ballbags. The whole thing of me selling my house in the UK and moving to L.A.?” she said. “I love London, I'm British. [But] I'm not 12. If I want to move to Paris or Zimbabwe, I can. I owe so much to the UK and I'd never 'run away,' but I hope people can support that I'm having a moment in my career where another country is excited and I have to be there to make it happen."

However, the singer has also come under other criticism because of a photo she recently posted on Instagram, according to the Daily Mail. Commenters criticized the bikini she wore while vacationing.

“It's a shadow people, rest your negative thumbs this Christmas. Or maybe forever? Lol, New Years resolution maybe? And to all the women (and men might I add) saying my vagina is out ‘is that a line doe’ you said doe?!” she said.

“Lmao! Get a grip, OH and you really need to go to the doctors if yours comes up that high!! #justsaying#sorrynotsorry”
