Joseph Gordon-Levitt Marriage & Wife: '500 Days of Summer' Star Ties the Knot
Actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt married his girlfriend Tasha McCauley in a private ceremony at their home on Dec. 20, 2014, People magazine reported. The 33-year-old "500 Days of Summer" star, known to be shy about details of his private life, confirmed the news to USA Today via his publicist, Erica Gray.
"I have a girlfriend, but I tend not to really like to talk about it in public," Gordon-Levitt said in 2013, when he would not even name McCauley. "The girl that I'm with, she really doesn't want to be a part of that," the actor said.
McCauley is the co-founder and CEO of Fellow Robots, a robotics company based at NASA Research Park in Silicon Valley, California. The bride holds a bachelor's from Bard College and speaks English, Spanish and Arabic, People had revealed earlier. She has traveled to places from Antarctica to Cuba and expanded her education with an MBA from the University of Southern California.
"With her impressive background and non-Hollywood job, sounds like McCauley's the perfect fit for Gordon-Levitt, who's always had a 'phobia' of 'getting attention from girls for (being famous),'" the magazine opined.
Apart from the hit movie "500 Days of Summer," Gordon-Levitt is known for his work in films such as "Inception," "Lincoln" and "The Dark Knight Rises." The Los Angeles-born actor is set to become even more of a household name as he has been tapped to play National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden in an upcoming but yet unnamed motion picture.
The movie will be directed by Oliver Stone, according to the film's producers, and shooting will begin this month in Munich, Germany. The director of "Platoon" and "Born on the Fourth of July" wrote the screenplay himself, USA Today noted; it is based on two books: Luke Harding's "The Snowden Files: The Inside Story of the World's Most Wanted Man" and Anatoly Kucherena's "Time of the Octopus."
Stone recently showed himself unapprehensive about the importance of his subject matter. "It's the greatest story of our time," the director said.
