Android users can now celebrate as Pop Cap finally releases Plants vs Zombies 2: It's About Time on the Google-based operating system.

The sequel to the successful mobile game, Plants vs Zombies, is back and many fans have been patiently (and impatiently) awaiting the release of the game to non-Apple devices. Game developers Pop Cap Games and publishers EA Games have initially released the game to iOS users only in August. However, in spite of the exclusivity, the game quickly scored 16 million downloads in less than a week - all from Apple gamers.

Now, a recent report by Gizbot.com announces the release of PvZ2 on Android. According to the report, non-iOS users can now enjoy the video game on their devices for free just by downloading it from the Google Play Store. Notably, the game is available to all gamers globally.

The game was previously released to Android gamers in China around September. At that time, reports have it that PopCap was still checking if their servers can handle all the gamers at the same time. PopCap wrote on its blog last month:

A huge wave of zombies has landed in China! That's right: Plants vs. Zombies 2 is now available for Android in China. This means we're one step closer to bringing the Android adaptation of Plants vs. Zombies 2 to the whole world!

Then, Polygon reported earlier this month that PopCap has launched the game in Australia and New Zealand as well. And finally, the game is now available across all borders.

The Google Play download page for PvZ2 has a score of 4.5 out of 5 stars. The description tab writes:

Join Crazy Dave on a crazy adventure where you'll meet, greet and defeat legions of zombies from the dawn of time to the end of days. Amass an army of powerful new plants, supercharge them with Plant Food and power up your defenses with amazing new ways to protect your brain.
