Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is looking for big fights this year, and the son of a Mexican boxing legend is eyeing a showdown against Gennady Golovkin and Carl Froch.

Chavez, who has not fought since his unanimous decision win against Brian Vera in March last year, posted on Twitter that he can see himself facing Golovkin and Froch this year -- two fighters who have been on his radar over the past several months.

Previous reports indicated that Chavez was supposed to face Golovkin in July last year in California, but Top Rank Promotions reportedly interfered in the negotiation and talks about the proposed showdown went down.

Golovkin, who holds an impressive 31-0 record with 28 knockouts, recently said that he is also interested in facing Chavez after his upcoming title defense against Martin Murray.

The reigning World Boxing Association and International Boxing Organization middleweight champion said he has several opponents in mind, including Floyd Mayweather and Miguel Cotto, but he insisted that a showdown with Chavez is on top of his list.

"Everything I've done so far is for the fans. Thanks to all of them we've have managed to get to where we are, but [in 2015] we hope to do great things besides the fight with Martin Murray," Golovkin said. "I hope to face Chavez Jr., Canelo, Cotto, Carl Froch and Floyd Mayweather -- but I think right now my biggest fight is with Chavez Jr."

On the other hand, recent reports also revealed that Chavez could face Froch in March.

Eddie Hearn, Froch's promoter, expressed confidence about the proposed Chavez-Froch showdown, but Top Rank Promotions CEO Bob Arum told Tha Boxing Voice that the fight will not happen.

Arum insisted that Chavez could not face any fighter without their approval, reiterating that the 28-year-old still has a contract with them, contrary to what the former world champion's camp has been saying over the past several months.

"It's not going to happen because Chavez is under contract with us, period," Arum said of the Chavez-Froch fight. "And until he honors the contract with us no fight is going to happen without everybody being subject to litigation."
