Fans of "Parenthood" can expect emotional highs and lows when the NBC series returns with an all-new episode this Thursday.

During the last episode of "Parenthood," Zeek awoke from his sleep with chest pains and was in urgent need of an ambulance. Meanwhile, Julia and Joel ended up making out when Julia tried to force him to sign their divorce papers.

In wake of the next episode -- titled "How Did We Get Here?" -- NBC released two sneak peek videos teasing Camille's reaction to her husband's health crisis after he was rushed to the hospital and Julia and Joel as they move forward in their relationship.

In the first clip, Adam is seen comforting his mother Camille in the hospital chapel.

"Oh, Adam, it was bad. It was really bad. I don't know if he's going to make it through this," she confesses to her son.

The other video teaser shows Joel offering the Braverman family coffee that he bought from Starbucks as they are sitting in the hospital waiting room. After Camille and Crosby gratefully grab a cup, he tells Julia that he felt the need to "do something" in light of the grim circumstances. The video also hints that the couple will work towards reconciling their troubled marriage.

"It's been so much of what the audience and Erika [Chistensen] and I had wanted for so long, and it feels earned," actor Sam Jaeger said in regard to the mends that his character Joel makes with Chistensen's Julia according to The Hollywood Reporter. "There was a lot of damage done, and they are trying to get back to what they were and trying to establish who they are now. ... Nothing is easy, but everything is worthwhile."

Show creator Jason Katims announced via Twitter that the series finale, titled is "May God Bless and Keep You Always," will air later on in January.

"Thank you to all the fans for 6 great seasons. Tune in to say goodbye to the Bravermans on 1/29. #ParenthoodFarewell," he posted on Twitter.

Season 6, Episode 10 of "Parenthood," "How Did We Get Here?" airs on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015, on NBC.
